Dave SpeicherDave Speicher is a freelance web designer, photographer, and self-proclaimed jack-of-all-trades. He is also, first and foremost, a true American Patriot. He proudly served six years in the United States Navy during the end of the Vietnam War years and beyond. One of his sons served with Marine Corps in Iraq and another with the Air Force in Afghanistan. His father was in the Navy during the Korean War, his uncles fought in both theaters of World War II and his paternal grandfather fought in France during World War I - the war to end all wars. He is also a not too distant relative of Meriwether Lewis, of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Dave's great-grandmother was a Lewis.

Dave is a recent transplant to the Raleigh, NC area after living in St Charles, MO for several years. He was born in Indianapolis, IN where he lived for five years. His family then moved to Puerto Rico where he spent those important formative years. It was in PR that he developed a love for the ocean, art, and music which have guided him since. Speicher lived in Louisville, KY for several years, graduating from high school before joining the Navy in 1972. Several duty stations included Florida, Okinawa, and Scotland. Since then he worked in Information Technology for more than 20 years and has lived in KY, FL, MO, and now, NC. His goal is to eventually make it back to the beaches of Florida and perhaps even live on a boat. Dave is married to Lisa, and they have one "baby", Shadow, a 14-year-old deaf and blind poodle.

Speicher became involved in the Freedom Memorials project as a way to honor a close friend, Pam Coakley, and her son, Sgt William Patrick Rudd, who was killed in action in Mosul, Iraq on 10-05-08. Sgt Rudd led a successful raid to take out a high-ranking Al Qaeda leader when he sustained small arms fire and died soon afterwards. Patrick's sacrifice for America, and all of America's fallen heroes, must be honored and remembered for generations to come.
